i Remix SPC ECO

Below is the link to hear my remix of the SPC ECO tune "I'm Telling You".... look at the bottom for the "Ian Baird Mix"....

They posted it to their player on myspace...

http://www.myspace.com/spcecoremixes

and their home site:

http://www.spceco.com/remix.html

below is a link to the youtube vid with the original version:

An explanation on who/what SPC ECO is for those who don't know:
Those of you who know me will know that I am a huge fan of the band Curve.... One of my all time fav's.... Sadly they closed shop a few years back. But a new beacon of hope.... Dean Garcia (1/2 of Curve and former bassist for the Eurythmics) has started a new band.... SPC ECO....
The band consists of Dean, his daughter Rose Berlin (who has the spooky voice of a broken angel) Joey Levenson on Guitar FX, and two of the members for the live side are Monti (drums) and Debbie (guitar) also formerly of Curve.....
So far all of their tracks that I have heard have been brilliant with plenty of guitar bent bliss.... I am looking forward to picking up their debut....

Anyways....enjoy my remix with washes of glistening distortion on top....

Enjoy loudly! Ian

I really should update my blog more often....

Yes I really should....
But if it’s any consolation I have been very busy. The last few months have found me wearing several different hats, and all has been well in the process.

1. I had the opportunity to record and mix the debut record from blues artist Jeff Chapman here at Arjuna’s Soundroom (www.jeffchapmanmusic.com). It came out great and a few of the cuts have gotten picked up by radio here and there accompanied by some nice press for Jeff. Check out Jeff and his band of heavyweight players.

2. I also had a young artist by the name of Chance Motta fly in from Seattle to have me produce and record his debut record here as well. That disc should be dropping soon. I’ll keep you posted.

3. Vote For Pedro from St. Louis recorded some news demo’s here and we start mixing them next week. They’ll be posted on their site soon. www.vote4pedro.net also myspace.com/vfpband

4. Did a remix for SPC ECO but I will make a separate blog for that with all of the groovy details. www.spceco.com

5. Got hired by Mark Heinz at www.markheinzproductions.com to do the theme for Moe’s Big Takeover at www.riverfrontradio.com Lovers of all things punk should check it out

6. It looks like I’ll be lending a bit of drums and bass to the new Beth Gragg record. And I think they are doing their best to kick that record out fairly soon.

7. And last but not least.... I have managed to squeeze in some time for a new Spring Clock Wonder album. It’s probably somewhere between 75%-85% complete. I quite pleased with it’s manifestation so far. I hope to have it out by spring. I’ll have more news on that front very soon.

8. In the meantime go subscribe to my youtube channel at:

There is all sorts off goodness.... from music videos to random humor to I'm not sure what to call it.... you decide....

Stay Tuned.... Ian

New SCW "Fantastic" Now on iTunes, Amazon and CDaby.com

Greetings One and All....

I am very happy to announce the release of the new SCW album entitled "Fantastic".
I had a great time recording this disc and I think it shows. Lyrically it touches on a wide range of topics, all of which are very personal to me and have had an effect on my psyche in one way or another. This album comes with much ebb and flow, sonically and otherwise. It's a new lunar phase for SCW and this disc is just the beginning. I hope you enjoy the ride as much as I have.

Grab "Fantastic" at the iTunes Music Store, Amazon.com and CdBaby.com
